What if one mistake costs you everything
What is your definition of a mistake?
When do you realize a mistake has been done?
A young school girl gets pregnant and we all say it was a 'mistake'.
A lover slaps his/her spouse in anger and calls it a 'mistake'.
A beautiful glassware drops and we call it a 'mistake'.
We step on someone's toes and apologise immediately because it was a 'mistake'.
We offend God and we apologise saying it was a 'mistake'.
Judging from the above scenarios, we will discover a mistake means a lot of things and can also come in different forms.
Now, what will you do if one mistake costs you everything?
Ponder on this question for few seconds.
What is the greatest mistake you can do that will put a stop to your life?
Let's go back to the first scenario i gave, about a young school girl who got pregnant by 'mistake'.
From the part of the world i come from, when an unmarried school girl gets pregnant, she becomes stigmatised automatically. She becomes the topic for gossip.
This kind of mistake causes a total turn around for the person involved. Obviously, she will lose the trust of her parents. She may lose some friends. Her education will be affected. Her self-esteem will be affected too and she may not come out of the pool of condemnation.
Can we say that one mistake cost her everything?
One thing I've discovered about the word 'mistake' is that, it is a confession often proclaimed by the person in question, meaning a mistake isn't yet a mistake till you tell people it is.
For all we know, it could be intentional, what you say about it determines what we will think about the situation.
Yes! Everyone make mistakes but not everyone comes out of the guilt.
A mistake, if not properly handled can result to Failure.
But making a mistake or being a failure shouldn't stop us from trying again. At times, you may find out you didn't fail, you just didn't meet up to the expectations of people around you. The dictionary defines the word mistake as 'a wrong action attributable to bad judgement', meaning a mistake is a mistake when people see a reason to judge you.
You got pregnant in school. Yes! It was a mistake but what rule says your life must end there. Who says you can't pick up the pieces of your life and create a more beautiful piece.
A mistake is just a way of reassuring us we are still on this part of the world. The day you see yourself above mistake is the day you are no longer fit to still be alive because dead people are the ones that has nothing else to make a mistake about.
So is there really a mistake that can cost you everything?
Is there really one thing you can do that will make you lose everything?
