WHAT LIFE TOOK FROM ME - CHAPTER 11

I got up from the floor and looked at myself in the mirror. I wasn't seeing Gina anymore, i saw anger, revenge and bitterness. Such that i have never seen before. All these while, i had accepted whatever life threw at me but at that point, i was ready to pay back. I felt so cheated.
I forgot the fact that i was in love with Tosin.
-They spent the blood money together anyway- i thought.
I got out of the toilet and checked if there was anyone around. I heard them talking in the sitting room so i managed to find my way to the kitchen without letting anyone notice i was out. I rampaged the whole kitchen silently till i found where the knives were kept.
I felt there was a reason why i discovered the truth that fateful day and what other reason could be more than revenging the death of my family.
I brought out two knives and hid them behind me. I tiptoed to the sitting room door. I had planned charging into the sitting room and head directly to stab Tosin's Dad without saying a word to anyone. At least, by the time their senses were back, he'd be on his way to his grave. I tiptoed from the kitchen till i got to the entrance of the sitting room.
It was as if a demon took charge of me. I bounced into the sitting room and they stopped talking, with their eyes fixed on me. I had been crying and my tears had washed the makeup off my face. I fixed my gaze on his Dad.
"What's wrong baby?" Tosin asked with a slight frown.
"He......." i pointed to his Dad, ".......is wrong" i replied with my gaze still fixed on his Dad.
"What do you mean?" Tosin questioned further.
This time i didn't reply Tosin, i charged towards his Dad and stabbed him deeply in his chest.
Tosin's Mum jumped up in shock.
"Jesus!!!" Tosin exclaimed.
His Dad started gasping for breath. I could feel the life leaving his body as blood gushed out.
Tosin's Mum pushed me out of the way and i landed on one of the cushion chairs. She rushed to her husband and started calling his name.
"Vincent! Vinnnncent! Please don't do this". Then she turned to Tosin, who had been glued to one spot for some seconds, out of shock.
"Tosin!  You brought a murderer home as a wife! Aaaaaaah!......"
She started shaking her husband but it was too late. He died in her arms.

It wasn't until Tosin's Mum said "He is dead!" before i realised i had just killed a human being.
24hours ago, i was the perfect child of God, keeping his ordinances and maintaining a godly relationship with  the man i was in love with.
Tosin was still glued to that same spot. His Mum was wailing and rolling on the floor while i was still in the same position i was, with the bloodstained knife in my hand.
Immediately, i started shaking till the knife dropped on the floor.
"What have i done?"
Then for the first time in 15mins, Tosin looked at me.
"What have you done?" he asked almost ridiculously. "You just murdered my father in cold blood" he said with his face expressionless.
Then he picked his phone and i saw him input a number.
"Yea Hello.........is that the district police station please?......okay, a murder just took place in VGC and the culprit is still at the crime scene as we speak.......ok, i'd text you the address just now.....Thanks"
I buried my head in my hands. My life was completely ruined.

I was prosecuted few weeks later after being detained in the stinking police cell with fierce looking ladies.


"After all the evidences and words spoken for and against the accused, i declare her guilty of the crime of murder therefore, this is my judgement...." The middle aged judge adjusted his glasses while the court anticipated.
" I hereby sentence Regina Oludare to death by hanging.......I rise!!!"
"Cooooooourt!" the clerk shouted.

I couldn't believe my ears.
Death by hanging???!

"Noooooooo!!!" i screamed out loud.
In no time, 2 policemen came to me to lead me out of the court.

An hour later, i was escorted to the place of my death. I saw a man who started preaching to me to give my life to Christ so i will make heaven. I stopped and looked at him. Hot tears rolled down my cheek.
- How on earth did i get here? - i thought.
The police man behind pushed me forward and i started moving again.
The rope was put around my neck and the stool removed.

I opened my eyes.
- What is this place? - i thought
Then i saw people going in a particular direction into a room but just before they enter, they stop and talk with someone nobody can see. I couldn't hear the conversation because i was afar. Then, i moved close and suddenly a deep voice stopped me.
"Where do you think you are going?"
I pointed in the direction i saw the people heading to.
"That place they are going to"
"You are not fit for the kingdom" The deep voice said.
"But why? I was a very devoted Christian while i was back on earth"
"Yes, but then your service in the vineyard was nullified because of the blood in your hands"
Immediately i heard this, i checked my hand and saw blood dripping. I screamed.
"The other door is for you. Please proceed to your eternal home"
"Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!"

"Gina!!! Gina! Please wake up!"

- wait!  That voice sounds familiar. Could that be Tosin? Not possible. I killed his father, he called the police on me, i was sentenced to death, i died and........and......and.....wait! I went to hell -

"Jesus!!!!!!!!" i screamed
I opened my eyes and saw 4 faces.
Tosin's sister, Esther had joined them.
"Praise God!" his Mum said.
"What happened?" i managed to ask.
The last thing i remembered was lying on the floor in the toilet. I looked around and realised i was now in the sitting room with my clothes wet and a confused look on everyone's face.
"You've been unconscious for almost 4 hours" Tosin replied.
The others were already seated and looking at me.
"You said you wanted to go into the toilet and you were there for over an hour. By the time we got into the toilet, you had passed out"
"I passed out?" i asked ridiculously
"You mean i didn't come out?.....With a knife?...."
Tosin's Mum and Esther exchanged glances.
"A knife?" Tosin asked
Immediately i understood what happened. It was all a dream, more like a vision of what would happen if i try to take my revenge.
I started weeping.
Then, suddenly Tosin's Dad went on his knees. The whole family was taken aback.
"Gina my daughter" he started.
If he had called me that few hours later, i'd have spat on him. The dream terrified me to the extent that i forgot what Tosin's Dad did to my family. I feared for my soul.
"I have wronged you greatly and i am the cause of all the misfortune that befell you"
"Daddy, what are you talking about?"
