THE INSIGHT - CHAPTER 4
CHAPTER 4
A thunderous noise erupted inside his head immediately his feet reached the floor, he knew immediately that it's as a result of him not sleeping well.
"Who exactly could be knocking this early on a Saturday?" he grunted angrily. He hates being woken up so early especially 'on a Saturday'.
He walked sluggishly to the door after putting on a shirt to cover his broad hairy chest.
The person kept on knocking and later created a rhythm with it.
"This person is really having fun with knocking on my door sha, let me even see who it is". He opened the curtain halfway to peep.
"Feyi?!" he exclaimed

"Wake up jhor, naso you go dey do".
Bola stretched one more time before she opened one eye sluggishly.
"Where are you going so early this morning?"
"To Kunle's house. I've been trying to call him but his phone is off and I'm worried" Dayo replied
Bola leapt to the other side of the bed to get her phone. She pressed the unlock button to check the time.
"Aha! Ifedayo!". She only call her full name when she's angry.
"Are you okay at all? It's just 6am on a SATURDAY MORNING, i repeat SATURDAY MORNING" she uttered, stressing on her last two words.
"He's probably still on bed, why won't his phone be off? ehn tell me!" she's sitting on the bed now, with her hands on her crossed legs.
Dayo sat down on the bed with her with a gloomy mood.
"I'm so worried Bola, Kunle was never like this. It looks like I'm losing him"
Bola moved close to her and put her hands on Dayo's shoulder.
"I understand dear"
"I'm just going so we will talk things through again"
"So why this early?"
"I don't want him to leave the house before we could talk"
"Nice plan" Bola laughed, removing her hands "By the way, why did you wake me up sef"
"To come and lock the door when i go out"
"Alright o" she said as she got out of bed. "Finally, my friend is becoming sharp" she said, still laughing
"If i slap you ehn" Dayo replied jokingly

"I am so surprised to see you Ma" Kunle said, after offering Feyi a seat.
"I mean very surprised" he added
"I'm sorry for showing up at your door this way" Feyi replied.
Kunle was still bewildered.
"I never thought you know where i live". He was still standing.
"Well, it didn't take me more than 5mins to log into the company's database to get your address"
"Oooh" he smiled, then sat
"I looked around for you yesterday at my party but couldn't find you. I guess you left when you were done feeling odd" Feyi said with a smile. Her pink lipstick made her lips more enticing and her smile more captivating. Her colour blend fits her perfectly from her hair to her shoes.
Kunle smiled back but didn't answer her. Rather he deviated from the topic.
"So what can i offer you Ma?" he said, standing up in expectation for her request.
"Well, i doubt if you'd have what i want" she replied proudly then looked around the house. "Nice house you've got by the way, i love your curtains"
"Thank you Ma" Kunle replied
"I told you to drop this respect stuff in the office" she said as she looked at him "Oh! Are you still waiting to hear what i want?" she said after noticing why he stood up.
"Okay, just get me some juice"
"Alright m.......Feyi" he immediately corrected himself, then went to the kitchen to get a pack of juice and a glass cup.
Dayo arrived at Kunle's house. She felt relieved after seeing his car parked outside, at least it's a proof he hasn't left the house.
"I think there's someone at the door" Feyi said after Kunle served her the juice.
"Oh really? Let me check" he dropped the pack of juice and headed for the door straight away.
"Dayo!" he exclaimed in surprise. 'Today is really a day of surprise visits" Kunle thought
"Good morning Kunle. I guess i can come in right?". He stood at the door with his eyes fully gazed on Dayo. She has never come to his house without a call since they got into a relationship. He only prays she won't misinterpret Feyi's presence in his house.
"Of course, you can come in" he finally replied as he made space for her.
Dayo's head sang the 1st line of the 2nd stanza of the Nigeria national anthem: 'Oh God of creation!' when she saw Feyi sitting so comfortably and sipping her juice. She could feel the rage that's about to erupt but she kept her cool, waiting for Kunle to introduce.
"Oh! So you also have a maid that comes in during weekends" Feyi said innocently, judging with the way Dayo is dressed. "It took me like two months to convince my Dad that i'd prefer a stay-in maid, in that way i won't have to do some minor things while she's at home sleeping........" she continued
'OH MY GOD! did this girl just refer to me as a maid?' Dayo's head screamed
"Well, judging from the fact that you ain't married, a weekend maid is better" Feyi continued, as she took back her glass of juice.
Kunle and Dayo just stood still, in amazement. Dayo casted a long look at Kunle and he understood the meaning. He cleared his throat to stop Feyi from uttering another offensive statement.
"Uhmmmmm, Ma.....meet Dayo......." he said
"Hi Dayo" Feyi cut in nonchalantly as she dropped her cup back on the glass table, "I really do hope you are doing your job well" she added, then took a long look at her, "You obviously look like someone who loves her job anyway"
Dayo couldn't take it anymore, she was about to blot out angrily when Kunle finished his sentence.
".........my fiancee"
Feyi almost choked and she coughed repeatedly before dropping her cup.
"Your what?!" she retorted
"Oh my word" she got up, "I am so sorry if i acted rude to you" she moved close to Dayo and the latter moved an inch back.
"Oooh" Feyi noticed the gloom in the atmosphere and resolved to taking her leave.
"I think i have to go now" she picked her bag then turned to Kunle, "i'd see you at work on Monday"
"Alright MA" Kunle replied, stressing on his last word just to send a clear message to Dayo. He walked her to the door. He was still drawing back the curtain when Dayo suddenly blotted out.
"What was that all about Kunle? Who is she?
He didn't reply till he was done arranging the curtain, then he walked back to the position he left Dayo before seeing Feyi off. Dayo was too shocked to even have her seat.
"Well, i think her relationship with me looked glaring enough" Kunle replied nonchalantly and took his seat. He looked at Dayo's face and knew he's really in it for that day if he doesn't talk his way out of whatever Dayo may be thinking.
"Okay! She's my boss' daughter. The one i told you about" he immediately added
"Yes i know, but what i don't understand is why she's here this early"
"Well, i don't know either" he shrugged while Dayo gave him a long ridiculous look without uttering a word.
"Won't you at least have your seat?" he later said, "And why the hell are you dressed like this?", he said after taking a good look at her. Dayo obviously has no fashion sense. She can wear and combine anything together. Kunle has tried, countless times to improve her way of dressing but Dayo has been as adamant as ever.
"How am i dressed?" she asked, after taking a look at herself.
"Like you are coming from a funeral!" Kunle retorted. "By the way, I've never seen you wear the clothes i bought for you sometime ago"
"Well, i gave them out" she said timidly, and finally sat down.
"You did what?!" he exclaimed, pulling his left ear just to make sure he heard her well.
"Kunle, you know i don't wear those type of clothes. They are too tight and flashy" she protested, looking at the floor just to avoid Kunle's angry gaze.
"Jesus!"
"You saw me this way before asking me out so why are you suddenly having a problem with it"
"Ehn ehn" he stood up, "It's okay then........just for your information, she thought you were a maid because you obviously look like one" he said and stomped into his bedroom, leaving Dayo in the sitting room.
